It’s Wednesday. I’m finally over a crazy Summer cold (the worst). I’m so excited to share this outfit with y’all! First off – this pink tank. Can we just take a second…omg…so gorgeous! I purchased it from the JCrew factory outlet last season and I’m so excited to finally put it to use. It’s 100% polyester and super soft and breathable, plus the color is to die for. These are my go-to white jeans from TJMaxx by the brand Love Fire. My shoes are from H&M and are seriously so comfy. I’ll probably wear them everyday! This dainty gold choker is from Jane.com by the brand Cents of Style. My bracelet is from JCrew and my tiny star earrings were from American Eagle. I’m loving all the fun outfits that are being introduced to stores, but y’all, I am NOT a fan of all these crop tops! What are your opinions?

I’m so excited to share this week’s Faith Friday with you guys. Be sure to stop back by on Friday to read how God directed my calling.

Faith Friday – Making Plans

By the time most people graduate college, they have some sort of an idea about what they want to do for the rest of their life – especially when it comes to their career, relationships, and even where they want to live. Then, there’s me. I’m very go-with-the-flow, here-and-now oriented. I am NOT a planner. I am 10,000% okay with that. Just because I don’t have my entire life planned out perfectly, doesn’t mean there isn’t some sort of a plan. I guess the main reason I don’t really have a plan for my future is that my plans ALWAYS seem to fail. It’s one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my 23 years on this planet. That may seem like a bad thing to you. It’s quite the opposite. I am so glad that many of my “big” plans never worked out.

I’ve always wanted to live at the beach. As a little girl, while my friends were playing house, I was playing “go to the beach”. It was my happy place, and still is. I went to college near the beach and eventually moved within 5 minutes of the ocean after graduation. You would guess my life was a dream. Wrong. More horrible things happened in my life that year and a half than I could count. Why were so many things going wrong when I was finally where I wanted to be? In case you haven’t guessed it, I was completely out of God’s will. I decided the best way to change that was to leave. To forfeit MY plan.

I am in no way saying giving up is the answer to any problem.

I am saying that what I wanted was not what I needed. I didn’t need to spend my entire paycheck on rent. I didn’t need to live hours away from friends and my job. I didn’t need to be out of church. I didn’t need to be in a toxic situation. I was developing tiny habits in that place that would eventually ruin me. God saw that when I couldn’t. I am thankful to have had people in my life to encourage me in my decision to move, even though they knew it was a special place to me.

God took my plans and trashed them. He is slowly showing me how mighty His plans are for me. He has given me new passions and resources – none of which would have happened unless I surrendered to His plans. I’m writing this to remind you that you’re not a loser. You’re not a failure. You’re not worthless. There isn’t a master clock or timeline that we’re supposed to follow. Plans change. Plans fail. Plans also develop. Be hopeful in those developing plans. It’s God’s plan for you to succeed in His will. Timing is everything. Things may seem hopeless, but I promise, there are “far greater things ahead than any you leave behind.”

New Beauty Products – Ulta Mini Haul

So, I did a little damage in the make-up department. Whoops! I picked up this adorable Lorac eyeshadow pallet with beautiful matte and shimmer shades. It has warm and cool tones – perfect for someone like me, who loves both. My skin has been super if-y lately. It kinda looks great, and kinda looks awful. I picked up this Mario Badescu cleanser for $8.00. I can’t wait to see how it works, I’ve used it for the last week and can tell a HUGE difference in the texture of my skin. I can’t wait to see the long-term results. I also purchased Too Faced’s lip injection gloss. It is supposed to give your lips a “fuller” look. I’ve heard people say it completely burns their lips, but it doesn’t burn mine, and I love the smell (it reminds me of tanning lotion lol). I also impulse purchased the Loreal lash paradise mascara simply because of the packaging. I’ve used it a few times. I don’t hate it. I also don’t love it. I think I’d really like it if it wasn’t waterproof. I should have read the label lol.

We’re halfway to the weekend y’all. “My soul yearns for You in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for You.” Isaiah 26:9

Dying For Tie-dye

Nothing beats a cotton sundress in the Summer time. Nothing also beats a $7.00 – on – clearance – sundress! I knew this was coming home with me before I even saw the price, which then assured my purchase. I love the flow-y cotton fabric, and I’m OBSESSED with the neckline. High necks are my jam. The dress has somewhat of a synched waist, which is super flattering on most body-types. I paired it with neutral accessories. Now to the important stuff…where everything is from! The dress and clutch are both from It’s Fashion Metro; the shoes are from Old Navy; the sunnies are mega old and I’m not sure where they are from! Let’s pray this week is a quick one. Have a great week friends!

 Faith Friday – Detours

I was leaving home one evening to go to a nearby town. Normally the drive is only 10 minutes, down one single road. I left my house with a plan. A 10 minute mission. 2 minutes into my “plan” I hit a road block. I just brushed it off and took a different route. It would be longer, but I still knew the way. You’ll never guess what happened next. The road I was planning to take instead was also closed. Instead of turning around and going back home, I stayed the course. I was nervous. The sun was setting and I was in unfamiliar territory. Thank goodness for road signs!

I finally made it to my destination. But not after thanking God for leading my through some beautiful farmland with a beautiful sunset. He knows my heart LOVES driving and finding new ways to get places, and he also knows how stressed I get when things don’t go as planned. He combined those two to teach me such a simple lesson – just follow Him. He knows where I will end up. He knows my future and He knows my past.

“If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.” John 12:26

Darling Gingham Dress

Happy Wednesday friends! Two of my favorite trends for the Summer are gingham and anything off-the-shoulder. I’ve found the most perfect combination of the two wrapped into the sweetest dress. I purchased this dress from It’s Fashion Metro for less than $20 – which is a steal compared to similar dresses from department stores. I die for the adorable bow details! It would be super fun styled with a belt to add shape, pops of bright colors, or even neutral accessories. I paired the dress with my favorite monogrammed necklace from Etsy, brown clutch from It’s Fashion Metro, and my favorite mules from Belk.

A Sucker For Seersucker

IMG_6283.jpgIMG_6315.JPGIMG_6295.jpg

I found this precious seersucker button down at Forever 21 and have been wearing it non-stop ever since. It is ever-so-slightly oversized so it is perfect for keeping cool in the heat of the day. I’m a southern belle, so you already know I’m gonna style it with white jeans and a monogrammed necklace! Similar tops can be found here and here.

To start off this week, I want to share a little excerpt from a book I’m reading called “Uninvited” by Lysa TerKeurst. “Pain is the invitation for God to move in and replace our faltering strength with His.” Now, is it Friday yet?
