Have you ever heard the phrase “cold hands warm heart”? I think I’m going to start a new one that goes “cold shoulders warm heart” because y’all, this top definitely warms my heart. It is a combination of two perfectly dainty and girlie trends: peasant tops and cold shoulders. The flounced material is so lovely and adds the perfect flare to your everyday outfit. It makes a great addition to your winter wardrobe because of its versatility (you could easily pair this with jeans or a pencil skirt) and I mean, this color has me swooning. It’s perfect for Christmas and since our wallets are usually crying this time of year, you’ll love it even more because it doesn’t break the bank. Since we are finally in December, I thought it would only be fitting if I shared a feminine, holiday outfit that is trendy and casual – it’s also completely affordable! I found this top at TJMaxx and it was under $20 (similar top here, here, and here). The color is stunning and such a classic Christmas green. I love that it is off-the-shoulder, cause y’all know North Carolina doesn’t get chilly until February so it’s super breathable. The chenille material is definitely a trend for the holidays, so I’ve linked several other great sweaters below. I purchased these jeans from Nordstrom after trying them on and falling in l-o-v-e. The fit is fantastic. I normally struggle finding jeans that will fit my waist AND thighs but the slightest stretch in these jeans make them fit amazing! The price isn’t bad at all either. Y’all already know I love these booties. They go with so much and one of the main reasons I love them is for the “clicking” sound they make when I walk. I know that’s a pitiful reason to love a shoe, but I think it makes them sound sophisticated haha. As many of my readers know, my mother has been battling breast cancer. She had surgery last week and is recovering so well from it! She still needs help doing small tasks, but she is in very little pain which is a huge blessing. Your continued prayers are definitely appreciated! Have a fantastic week, friends!
As y’all know, I’m a dance teacher. It’s such a fun and rewarding job. I get to combine my passion for dance and love of children – what more could I ask for? Some nights are better than others. A couple of weeks ago one of my competitive groups got their costumes. It was a beautiful, pink, long sleeved dress with lace and pleats. It was stunning. They were so excited and started describing the costume to the older group. One of my students, Miranda, said the dress was “wrinkled” I laughed and reminded her that the dresses weren’t wrinkled, they were pleated, and that was that. That little interaction lingered in my head the rest of the night and into the days to follow.
My past is full of wrinkles. I’m ashamed of how I have treated people. I’m ashamed of the hypocritical attitude I had. I’m ashamed of how I doubted God. The list goes on. Guess what? All those things have been sorted out. God’s love keeps no record of our wrongs and our past is re-written. He took the wrinkles of my past, showed me grace, and told me to forget my past mistakes because He was making me new with clean pleats. Instead of being a hot mess, I feel secure in the life He has chosen for me. I love it!
I’m also pretty in love with these jeans from Shein. I found them on a CRAZY good deal and was in love with the fun flare. If you follow me on Instagram or snapchat, you’ve heard about these heels by Dolce and Gabbana. I may or may not have shed a tear when they came in the mail. They were my first high end designer purchase and I FEEL NO REMORSE. I’ll share with you just why I HAD to buy them – originally these shoes run around $700. I found them for $75. I feel pretty confident that the Lord wouldn’t have put them in my life if I wasn’t supposed to bring them home haha. I’ve shared this tunic in a different color on the blog before. It’s a basic necessity that you need in your wardrobe! As always, shop this look below.
Happy Monday friends! I’m basically still in a food coma from Thursday, but it’s no big deal! I wore this outfit over break and just had to share it with you. It’s beyond comfy and practical but it’s also pretty great because my jeans are under $15 right now. I styled them with my all time favorite tee by Free People which also comes in several other colors. It runs pretty big, I’m wearing an XS, so size down for an oversized look. I’m a big fan of the chenille trend so when I found this cardigan, I didn’t think twice about purchasing it. It’s SO SO SO soft and the color is so “70’s couch chic” – I die for it. When I bought these shoes I asked my friend Alex if she thought they were too “grandma-ish” and she said no, but even if they are, I still love them. The comfort level is unreal! I’ll link all the details in the widget below, simply click on the product image to shop! Let’s make this a great week!
Leather Jacket: This has been my favorite purchase EVER. I actually cried when I found it in Nordstrom. It has gold hardware and is so affordable!
Leopard Socks: I think these are so fun! I’m obsessed with leopard print and think these will be just darling under a pair of boots.
Initial Necklace: I love this dainty necklace from Loft. It’s perfect for layering and adding personal flare to an outfit.
Tote Bag: You can’t go wrong with a simple tote. This bag from Kate Spade has been on my wishlist for a while. It can easily go from work to play and Kate Spade bags are great quality and are very durable. You definitely get what you pay for.
Pink Sweater: I’ve had my eye on this sweater for the longest time! Pink is such a huge color this season and I’ve already added a few bright pink sweaters to my collection. This one is great because it’s slightly oversized so you’ll be super cozy – and you can have that extra slice of pie and no one will notice lol.
Chain Bracelet: I found this gold bracelet from J Crew Factory and the price instantly sold me. It’s perfect to add to a stack of arm candy!
Leopard Beanie: Like I said earlier, I love, love, love leopard print. Mainly because you can pair it with neutrals or blacks so it’s very practical and easy to include into outfits.
Leather Boots: These Frye boots have been on my wishlist for years. The quality is just so good. They are definitely a little pricey, but as I’ve said before, you get what you pay for!
Utility Jacket: This jacket is so warm. I wore it horseback riding in the mountains earlier this month and it kept me so warm in the cool air.
Off The Shoulder Sweater: Chenille is another huge trend this season. It’s soft and luxurious, plus, it’s mega warm. This off the shoulder top is just too adorable to pass up!
Black Aviators: If you’re looking for a good pair of shade to take with you from season to season, you need these in your life. They go with everything and are such good quality.
Skinny Jeans: I’m gonna go ahead and say it, these are the best jeans I have ever owned. They fit like a glove in all the right places, plus they were definitely affordable. I’m definitely going to purchase more
